Our visit to Cite - What a disappointment. When calling for a reservation, I asked suggestions for a day and time – it was recommended that we come on a Wednesday evening at 8:30 – since fireworks would begin at around 9:30 and the view was spectacular. I was also advised that there was Valet Parking which was covered by Cite.
Looking forward to a special evening… here’s what spoiled it.
1. While boasting of the spectacular view of fireworks, they had the area of the dining room from which fireworks could be viewed blocked off for a private party. Not a real big deal – we’ve seen fireworks before. 2. We first sat at a table for two, next to the window where there was a strong down-draft of cold air, making the spot uncomfortable – plus outside the windows were full of BIG creepy spiders and their huge dirty webs filled with spider-munchies. 3. We asked to move – and got out of the draft – but now found even more spiders, bigger spiders, with bigger webs – completely ruining the view because you didn’t want to look out the window. 4. Was the air-conditioning system of the fritz? This “classy”, high-priced restaurant had cheap , noisy fans stationed throughout. 5. The entire dining area was being handled by one waiter – he did a credible job – although much less attentive than would be expected at a place of this level. 6. Finally, when leaving, I asked for parking validation and the waiter and hostess both said they didn’t validate for parking – sorry! 7. The total cost for the evening was approximately $250.00 – certainly way too much for what we got – or, didn’t get. 8. The food was pretty good.
Sorry to say, we looked forward to this evening for so long… now we’re trying to forget it.
